Summer is upon us, and while the air is warming, so is the challenge of dealing with the frenetic energy here in the States. I find myself having to limit my daily news and media intake as a result. It can feel like a constant barrage of shocking revelations designed specifically to create chaos. The divisiveness and the polarizing energies are enough to set anyone into a rev. I find myself having to use my grounding and regulation skills, and am constantly reflecting on how important it is to understand that our own peace starts with centering in the body and regulating our nervous systems.

On May 17th, I was interviewed by Debbi Dachinger on her “Dare to Dream” radio show. During the interview, I gave a brief overview of the nervous system and how epigenetics, trauma, and overstimulation contribute to anxiety and feeling ungrounded. We discussed some practices that can help you bring your energy down into your body and regulate your nervous system.

We also had a caller with a question about a recurring pattern in her life in which others lash out at her when she asserts boundaries. I helped her connect to the recurring pattern, which began with her father and his relationship with his father. With this new perspective, she has the potential to untangle herself from the epigenetic influences that are the root of her own relationship to boundaries and individuation.

I am including recordings of my talks here, should you be moved to listen.
